Hello, can anyone help me ?๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿ’• I have 2 fiddle leaf fig trees here and Im latterly doing everything possible to keep them healthy since we moved 3 months ago from a house (where they loved staying in the outside garden) into an apartment. I replanted them to a bigger pot (that I still think is small) and 1 month ago one of them lost 2 leafs and that is when I started getting more worried. I have been treating them for thrips with a neem oil mist washing them on the shower and I believe they started looking better. I am placing them in a room with more sunlight but probably they had too much direct sun light on them. And now they have these brown spots more towards the bottom of the leafs. I really want to keep them happy. Can anyone help me ?

Honestly best bet is looking up their optimal conditions and jotting them down, and compare to your conditions. Try experimenting with a pot with lots of drainage and donโ€™t be afraid to water through. These plants are notorious for being hard to care for so reading up and comparing your conditions is what will help. 2 simple tools will do this an indoor thermo-hygrometer and a multi-soil meter with both of these you will find out conditions and find what your plant is needing.

I believe the brown spots are due to a moisture issue.

Is she fully dry before watering? I would check first because fiddle leafs are finnicky & sometimes planta isnโ€™t 100% correct. Also make sure the pot isnโ€™t too big, this one looks fine though. I wouldnโ€™t repot unless you think thereโ€™s a rot issue.

Wait you said it was too dry- what type of soil did you use?

Overwatering can cause leaf loss but so can underwatering, also once you find a good spot, donโ€™t move it - that can also cause leaf loss ๐Ÿ˜…

You can add some perlite for better aeration! But should be fine if youโ€™re waiting to water until completely dry.

Yes, I watered her Sunday in the shower and she is still moist but usually they dry out pretty fast.

I also think some of the spots could be due to the sun. I placed them near a window with a lot of sun last week and i don't know if it could have been too much.. Ps: one of the days they were facing the other way
