Hi all, I frequently have this problem where my soil in my houseplants will get these fuzzy white balls of mold or something in the soil. It’s really gross and I either remove it if it’s not too bad or completely change the soil when it happens. Does anyone know what this is or any ways to prevent it?

That’s typically due to overwatering and not enough light for the soil to dry out. I’d be more mindful of watering. Maybe if not get drainage holes and water through then wait till dry and then re water. My best friend in this effort is a soil meter. Great for getting in routine with problem plants. If all doesn’t work it might just need new soil and treatment.

the mold is probably due to overwatering and lack of proper light. try also sprinkling cinnamon on top of the soil, it might help control the mold

Try researching bottom watering! Great way for your plants to get a full drink without having to deal with pests or molding
