She was cut from a mother plant. Used fish fertilizer for a week. Tried to pot her but her health declined slowly afterwards. Put her in a water pot with liquid fertilizer and she is still withering away. I think tap water is working against her at this point and it’s in the right environment. She might not be getting the sun like she needs but it’s been so hot lately.

It would be hard to support the leaf structure without roots. Typically, a few lower leaves are removed to take the stress off and give the remaining leaves and plant a chance to survive.

So you think removing a few bottom leaves will work

Yes I’d do that and probably try less harsh water like get some tap water conditioner for aquariums. Sometimes the heavy metal and chlorine in the local water supply can be harsh on sensitive plants.

I found a video that says remove all but 5 leaves. Change water daily. Takes 1 to 2 months to see roots! Wait until roots about 4 inches long before planting in a pot. That takes a lot of patience!😃 Research a few sites to be safe. The video was by Swedish Plantguys titled Cutting from a Dracaena
