Have a monstera deliciosa that has been thriving on my balcony since I got it. Then today when I was watering it, I noticed this one nasty leaf. See pic. Anyone know what caused that? It isn’t on any other part of the plant. Just cut it off? Or is it more serious?

Weird!!! It almost looks like maybe something caustic got spilled on it that burned it. Or maybe a bird pooped on it? If there’s so sign of bugs I’d just ignore it and watch it. I’d cut the brown spot out if it were me just cuz I don’t like seeing brown on my leaves. I bet it’s nothing serious.

If you see it spread or appear elsewhere on the plant then I’d try using a fungicide on it.

    Sunburn?

It looks like sunburn. Do you have something in the yard--lawn ornament, windchime, etc which is reflective? Maybe it's causing a “magnifying glass” effect. I had some flowers in my front yard and I couldn't figure out why one side was so crispy. Then I noticed that my metal wind chime was throwing a reflection right on that part of the plant. Once I moved it, it was fine .

This sounds very possible. I wasn’t working from home today but tomorrow I’ll be keeping my eye out for any unintended magnification.
