I went to water the plants today and I watered the mystery plant. It was a grafted tangerine tree that died during the winter, but now their two stalks. On the stalks were two giant swallowtail caterpillars, and I don’t know how to feel about it. What should I do??? I don’t want to hurt them but I’m afraid that it’ll hurt the plant
I’d just leave them tbh.

Me too. That plant is a survivor. Caterpillars think it’s yummy so it can’t be doing too badly. Maybe coddle the tree as much as you can with tlc.
0 likes If it was fungus gnats or something out to kill the plant I would think differently. The caterpillars will move along after this phase and there’s a whole lot of green and leaves in that tree.
