Looking to know more about the care and wellbeing of this (name unknown) plant, which a friend just gifted us before she moved. Any suggestions are welcome, thanks.

Ooo that begonia is neat looking. Curious what name is when you find it. They like to stay moist but not wet. Indirect light. 😉

I think it may be a variety of Rex begonia called Fedor. There are so many and there are no good resources for help with identifying the thousands of begonia varieties there are. Etsy is the first place I look. But after an exhaustive search on the sites I know, this was the closest I could find. Sometimes though, especially with begonias, just knowing that it’s a Rex may be as close as you’re going to get. Enjoy that pretty little Rex!!!

Gorgeous plant! My begonia definitely likes to dry out a little bit.

Could also be saxifrage which has similar needs to a rex begonia— indirect sun, let the soil dry out between watering.
