any recommendations on how to get rid of mealy bugs fast? my coworker overwatered my plants while i was gone and now my aloe has them 😢

    I’ve heard spritzing them with diluted alcohol kills the bugs and then you can treat the plan with neem oil

    I have a book that says: “Remove small infestations of leaves and stems by dabbing them with a cotton swab soaked in methylated spirits (don’t know what those are) followed by an insecticidal spray (wear a mask for this). Severe infestations stunt the plant’s growth, so use an insecticide or a biological control in summer and remove all traces of the wooly material.” Good luck!

    You can swipe them off with pure alcohol on a swab and then treat biweekly based on how bad the infestation is. For hardier plants, you can spray directly with diluted isopropyl alcohol. I would also spay down with neem oil, following the directions on the bottle.
