Sister got this Money tree from a gal that said here take it. Yes, it was flooded in water and so I repotted in Money tree friendly dirt. This was 1 week ago. It has a clean new plastic pot inside this green pot and it has 5 drain holes. Question is the roots were almost fully gone due to the fact that it only has small roots left .Does anyone think this can survive and regrow new roots here as seen?

I would put it in a way smaller pot (1” bigger than root ball diameter) and trim some foliage to encourage root growth

Agreed. I was also gonna say don’t be afraid to trim it back. It will help it be bushy when the leaves grow back in and energy go to the root growth. Your TLC, and some time, it will be great. See my recent post for inspiration 🤩❤️🪴

I cut on the left leave that’s sticking straight out . We shall see if anything improves.

Money trees have very shallow roots so a small pot is essential for a strong tree. I’ve had stumps with only a few nubs grow very well. Be patient, fertilize well, and lots of light.

I would start off with a 2-1-1 or 2-1-2 for your plant. Looks a little pale. The higher nitrogen will help it green up some.
