Please help! What’s happening to my Peace Lily?!?!?!?! EDIT: Alright, I’ll move it out of the sun and try to water it consistently (and prune the dying leaves). If that doesn’t work, I’ll flush out the soil in case of some sort of mineral/fertilizer buildup.

    Could you be overwatering, maybe?

It could be overwatering because I’ve skipped two Planta watering reminders for my peace lily since the soil wasn’t wet + it wasn’t wilted.

Looks like overwatering or possibly sun damage. Give the soil a poke and see if it’s staying wet.

It could either be overwatering because I’ve skipped two Planta watering reminders for my peace lily since the soil was wet + it wasn’t wilted, or sun damage because I moved it in front of my south-facing window and it’s been pretty bright here recently.

Looks like underwatering after having been overwatered. Aka inconsistent watering. Overwatering leaves the leaves (hehe.) with yellow edge. Leaves curl when the cells lack moisture. But sunlight exposure can also cause curling because the leaves are trying to hide from the sun. Also, two questions — 1. Are you misting your Lily? 2. Is it in range of a heater or air conditioner?

I agree it’s interesting that if you underwater some plants then try and correct it by accidentally overwatering it creates an even bigger problem. Plant cells dying from underwatering can’t be revived by overwatering. Sometimes there’s a point of no return for some leaves. I would prune the plant and try to stick to a regular schedule don’t just rely on the drooping leaves of a peace lily to tell you when it needs water.

I am not misting my peace lily, but I’m thinking about getting a humidifer. My peace lily is in range of a ceiling vent/AC

I put my peace lily in water in glass and it’s better… dark leathery spots were due to poor water quality. It’s a hard plant ( for me) but it’s 6 years old .. not bad.

Mine did that, it was due to soil imbalances. Too much fertilizer caused it to look just like that. I’ve read that is best to replant it or completely drown it in water to wash away the solubles. Hope this helps!
