this plant used to be lush and beautiful, but recently most of the long vining growths have died off. I know the plant is healthy because there’s new growth, but what made some of the vines die off? Am I doing something wrong? Any help would be great

He might be due for a repot soon judging by the image. These are generally fairly resilient philodendrons provided good lighting, and a watering when they are dry.

it might be a couple of props in one pot and one side has root rot. i’d check the roots out. and the new growth is smaller, try some fertilizer once it’s settled. good luck

I can’t see enough of the plant to see if the plant is truly healthy. But, what’s shown is dried out from insufficient water, low light, insufficient fertilizer or a combination. It could also have used up all the nutrients in the spoil and need a repot, as Vera recommended above. I would take Vera’s advice and repot to a pot one size larger if the roots are excessive. Water regularly once the soil dries out. Check with a wooden meat skewer. Fertilize at least once a month in colder months with diluted fertilizer. Keep it in bright indirect light. Good luck🍀🪴
