I have a question, what is the best soil in general for most plants? My current mix is potting soil with perlite, bone meal, worm castings and orchid bark. Just wondering if i should make any changes

That’s what I use I get the Ocean Forrest soil that has worm castings and bat guano mixed in it, I add perlite and orchid bark and my plants have been thriving since I switched to that potting soil opposed to the miracle gro one used before.

so i did this research when i wanted to make a big batch cause it was annoying to keep making them also cheaper to just get bigger bags then mix them in one sealed container so youre ready to go when you feel like its time to repot to get the most pumped up base soil mix, (bear with me ) 20% perlite, 10% pon ,10% orchid bark , 30% coco peat , 15% worm castings , 15% horticultural charcoal (i find that the charcoal has helped me with over watering and root rot) then depending on the airation level they like i’d either add more chunky medium (coconut husk ) or if they like more water retention some sphagnum moss … also when youre repotting unless theres some fungal issues keep atleast 30% of the original soil it had and closer to how much it drains so the plant wont go into too much shock… thats all i’ve learned right now … its worked so far on alocasias, (polly, dragon scale, stingray ) philodendrons (monsteras, squamiferum, pink princess) even pileas & begonias. good luck!
