So Yoshi was doing well and growing new little leaves, but then I found thrips on it 😖 so I gave it a rinse and sprayed with insecticidal soap. I’ve always used insecticidal soap on my plants when they have pests, and I’ve never had an issue. The thrips seemed gone so I sprayed Yoshi with neem oil to keep bugs off (which I’ve also done with other plants and again never had an issue). But Yoshi doesn’t seem to be taking to this care routine well 😞 I’ll have to check the roots and see if there’s any damage there, but does anyone know if these plants are more sensitive to care routines? Is this plant worth saving? I just bottom watered today because the soil was dry. But the soil also seemed a bit different, not grainy, but more sponge-like. I don’t know if repotting it into fresher soil might liven it up

The little tiny leaves are probably worth saving. I think you should change the soil. I would change the soil and give it more light. Also i would cut off the long stems.

You can probably save it but if you change the soil, use more appropriate soil for a peperomia. That would be a succulent mix. I have also had trouble using neem oil. Most plants were ok but I ruined a beautiful jade tree and several echeverias. Be sure to keep them out of bright light until the neem oil has dried.

So I’m repotting and I’m not sure if this is the plants root system? Or some fabric that might’ve been used to bind the roots? I got the plant from my local plant store

Here’s a cleaner look. It doesn’t seem to want to come off when I tug on it. Any one have any ideas?
