    If it’s being overwatered, it can get root rot which would cause leaves and branches to die/fall off. If it’s not getting enough sun they can fall off too.

      we put him in sunlight but that turned his leaves yellow and they fell off. we water him every week and a half. he gets some ambient light but no direct sunlight anymore.

    Are the stems squishy? They look black which could indicate root rot. Money trees like to be slightly root bound and completely dry out between waterings.

    My money tree is very tempermental when it comes to location. She hates being moved, even under ideal conditions. Pick a spot for your plant, and leave it. Follow the apps watering schedule to avoid over watering. Your plant should start to come back, slowly.
