New growth on new zz plant looks like this and on the regular leaves too. Is it too much sun? I’ve had the plant for a little over a month and I’m not sure what to do to help it. New plant mom struggling 😩

    in my personal experience i’m not an expert but a zz was my first plant. that just looks like fresh growth. it’s actually not even done growing because the top still has layers. the leaves and stem will darken as the leaves mature. almost like when butterfly wings are drying

    it just looks like damage from unfurling to me! this can be a humidity issue so, if where the plant is is pretty dry, i’d recommend a lil humidifier action. they are usually fine with normal household humidity, so i’m wondering if where you got it from was just dry!

      oh but hannah is totally right, the color is absolutely normal for new growth! your plant is beautiful ☺️

    Your ZZ plant should not have direct sunlight at all, it thrives in low light conditions, and it loves dry soil, so only water, your ZZ, when the soil is completely dry, and keep it out of direct sunlight
