Hey guys, been a while since I posted. Anyways, I’ve been noticing that my Ficus Benjamina has been dropping leaves far more than usual. Here in Australia it’s spring right now, so I don’t think that it’s exactly ‘dropping season or anything. Any advice would GREATLY appreciated! Please help. I’ve been so worried about him it’s bothering my whole family. 😫😭🥀🌴

I was going to ask literally the same questions as plantgeek!! I brought mine in from being outside all summer and she threw a total fit and dropped a ton of leaves. She looks healthy so you are most likely dealing with some sort of temper tantrum. 😂😂

Unrelated to what is wrong with your plant, but a gentle warning abt leaves in pots just cut of my own trauma: Make sure not to leave those leaves covering the soil. It traps in moisture in a way that seems to really attack the stems/trunks at the surface layer of the soil 😭 I lost a whole money tree trunk to that on a money tree that was already missing one from the previous owner :') She got 2 left but your figgy friend only has 1

Well since you live in Australia, the damage to your Ficus is obviously one of the following: 1. The giant tree tick, named for its desire to instead feed on plants than people. 2. The toxic web spider. They make webs that are toxic to all that touch it, including plants. Watch out, one could be above your head right now, waiting to pounce. 3. The doom snake. If it bites something, the victim slowly drops its flesh, starting with leaves for plants, but if it bites a human, first it's the hair, then the fingers, then the nose, ears, eyes. And so on.
