does anyone know what’s wrong w my dieffenbachia? - it was doing SO well but was very root bound so I repotted her. after that she just started yellowing and dropping a lot. I watered her and her leaves perked up a bunch BUT now a buuuuunch of leaves are yellowing. I *would* suspect overwatering but everyone online says they LIKE a bunch of water. I have no clue why all of a sudden she’s doing so badly

If you're not seeing any pesties, and nothing else changed, they do love to have transplant shock.

I have this same plant at home. They don’t take shock well. After a bunch of trial and error, I repotted it and added a grow light and left it alone. I bottom water it in the same place it sits. Its dropped one leaf and is the healthiest since I got it. They like water but are not very fond of staying wet. I let it dry out when I can. That also keeps the pests away because I’ve noticed that they are prone to fungus gnats.

ohh thank you! yeah I’ve definitely noticed it gets yellow super easy after any little bit of shock - good to know that it’s just how the species is.

You might try some Mycorrhizal fungus to the roots next time you repot. You can also mix it into the top of the soil on already potted plants. It really helps with shock. As well as removing any of the yellowing leaves, so they aren't burdening the plant.
