Just bought this monstera a few weeks ago- just trying to figure out if this is a sunburn spot on my plants’ leaf or something is wrong with it 😁 gets watered once every two to three weeks, so its about time for watering again soon Edit : I do have a grow light coming in for the plants as they’re pretty distanced from both windows in my room

pretty sure spots like this are from overwatering or soil that stays wet too long. monstera should only be watered once at least half the soil is dry, but they can handle the media drying out completely. if the soil is really wet and dense and doesn’t dry, i would recommend taking the rootball out of the pot and wrapping it in an old towel to absorb excess moisture, or repotting the plant

i also wouldn’t recommend watering your plant on a schedule, plants change how much water they use daily based on a number of factors such as temperature, humidity, airflow, lighting, season, and growth/dormancy. watering your plant on a schedule can mean you water too soon or too late

Agree with Plant Father, mine got these until I started only watering when the soil is mostly dry. I also repotted into some new soil and that helped mine bounce back

Thank you both for the help 🙏🙏🙏 I just got this a few weeks ago and have only watered it once so it probably was from Walmart overwaters

You may want to purchase a moisture meter. It has helped me and my plants so much.

you’re very welcome! unfortunately big box stores seem to have a tendency to overwater their plants. i would recommend using a bamboo skewer to check the soil of your plants in future. i advise against electronic moisture meters since even the nicest, most expensive ones are unreliable and gimmicky— they don’t actually measure the soil moisture but rather its conductivity

Or under water too- im definitely going to be using an old chopstick to start measuring the soil 🙏
