I need help! ive treated all of my plants with neem oil once a week for almost a month now and they STILL have thrips.. is that normal? what should I do?

    Might wanna givem them a bath. With neem oil, peppermint Castile soap and hydrogen peroxide and repot !

      I’ve also been able to expedite getting rid of them by dramatically increasing the humidity. Just be careful not to hurt the plant this way!

    When you say “treated with neem oil,” what do you mean? How often are you doing it?

      I have this neem spray and I spray the top and bottoms of the leaves, including the stems once a week

      Got it, thanks! I think some people recommend treating the soil as well since that’s where the babies come from. There are lots of other great tips in the comments here! Good luck!

    I personally bagged all of my plants when I had a thrips outbreak (and quarantined my bigger ones in separate rooms). This was immensely helpful. I sprayed tops and bottoms of leaves with Youtuber Paige's "sexy plant juice spray" 1x every 4-5 days, and then every 2 weeks I would take each out of the bag and shower the leaves from bottom top and prune any effected leaves. After 8 weeks I repotted them all in new soil, and added systematic granules. I still spray with the sexy plant juice spray 1x/week and I have no pests now, and don't think I ever will again lol it was very extra, but for me, totally worth it for the peace of mind I have now.

      I use Paige's sexy juice !!! I spray my guys down weekly also and have not had any pests (knock on wood!!!) Sexy Plant Juice 2 cups water 2 tablespoons neem oil 1 tablespoon peppermint castile soap 1 teaspoon 70% isopropyl alcohol I also add a teaspoon of peroxide Good luck!

    I have always considered thrips to be a higher threat level than any other pest. The only time I had them, I treated them weekly with Captain Jack’s on a rotation. First, I cut off any affected leaves (as thrips lay eggs in them) and threw them out immediately. Then, I’d take plants from one part of my house, take them all to the tub, spray them down, and leave them overnight to dry. I think I broke it up into three days a week to address all ~120 of my plants. I did this for 5 weeks just to be safe, but I think they were gone in 4. I also treated everybody with Bonide granules (except my alocasia) and that was it! PS: at the time, I was recycling water across all my plants, so I HAD to treat everybody because I had likely infested a lot of plants.
