Hi, plant friends! Do you know why my Monstera is going down instead of up? Please, help me! 🄲 PS: do I need a bigger pot or change the place?

I don’t have a monstera but a lot of post on this app say to give it a trellis or something to anchor it on. I have also read that they have a ā€œfrontā€ & ā€œbackā€ when you do this so you don’t necessarily have to turn it? Again, my information might be wrong & I have no first hand experience.

Looks like under or over watering! Maybe check the roots it looks a bit stressed as well (the leaves should only face one direction) put in in front of a window and wait till the leaves turn one way! They’re pretty tolerant plants when it comes to under watering so it’s most likely root rot! Hope this helps good luck!

Was it recently repotted? They go limp a week or more after a repot especially a repot where the root ball was broken apart. If it was repotted recently, is the width of the new pot only 2 inches wider than the old pot? The roots will rot if there is too much soil in the pot holding excess water that the plant can’t use. Check the roots.

Sorry for the late reply, Sunny! I didn’t repot my plant… but your info is super helpful because I am planning to repot. Thanks a lot! 😊
