This is two sides of my new Portulacaria Afra. I have no idea what to do with it, design-wise. I added some wire to give it a little artistic movement but I don’t really like how all over the place it is. It’s not a defined tree shape at all. I bought two pruning tools ready to rock and roll, but I have no direction. I also would like to propagate the cuttings so I don’t waste them.
My first plant any tips?

Thinking ahead… How do I prep these guys for dormancy? I have my Bouganvillea Cultivar indoors, and my Juniper outside. I do not have a garage with a window. Any advice is appreciated! Happy planting 🪴

Hi, I’ve had this Chinese elm bonsai tree for nearly a month now and its health is not doing great. I have just moved it to the window ledge to see if it will do better. Any tips for Chinese elm when they are in this position? I have just bought a soil water checker to see if that will help with when to water.
Hi! First time ever pruning anything and it’s my kid’s bonsai that is doing fantastic. (For now) But I have no idea if I should prune it.. anyone with thoughts? I can add more photos if needed.

Some pruning and wiring done this afternoon on my Elephant Jade. Probably the last time I’ll touch him until next spring. Does anyone have suggestions for winterizing and moving jades indoors for the winter?

First time growing a bonsai. When do I start pruning this baby flaming? It’s about 3-4 months old
Allow me to introduce Albert. He's an alberta spruce from basic nursery stock and just started his bonsai training with a light trim to make his trunks more visible. Next spring I'll style him in earnest and put him in a hexagonal pot that I've been eager to use :D

I’ve been wanting to prune this dwarf jade for a few days, but I want to propagate the cuttings. Should I let them grow out more?
My ficus ginseng developed these white patches and brown spots? It's been really sunny outside so my guess is sunscald, but I'm not sure.

Update on my pink azalea bonsai, I’ve had her under a grow light for the past few days and she has greened up well. She is definitely getting better, her leaves can bend without snapping now, and she can hold much more water. I have finally gotten confident enough to name her. Thank you all for your help.
I bought this bonsai from the Columbus botanical garden in May. I took a class and have been researching what to do, but I need help. Do I wait for it to grow more before styling it? Should I repot it? What would you do if you had just purchased this plant! It’s a bougainvillea cultivar.
I've had this ficus Ginseng for about 4 years and it's been struggling along and I've never pruned. I wanted it to get nice and healthy before trying to shape it. It recently put out a big shoot on the bottom and is getting new leaves regularly. I'm thinking the top needs to be chopped to make it look better. Any advice?
He's not out of the woods yet, but! Mr Miyagi has new growth! TWO whole buds!!
