This beauty I found at a plant shop today and I couldn't resist! When repotting, there was a bit of root rot because the nursery had it in a cloth start bag that wasn't removed 🤦‍♀️ I removed all the rotted roots and bag, but it still has a pretty sizable root cluster I feel. How concerned should I be about her survival? Obv, I will do anything to keep her alive and healthy. Also what should I do if it starts showing signs of transplant shock? (I had to be a little firm while removing all the fabric bits) I think that's my biggest concern.

Can someone please help me. My Alocasia has been adapted to a LECA environment so I know it is not over or under watered. And I can not find anything moving. I use a grow light with an average of 400-550 foot candle near a northeast facing window about a foot away.

I’m curious how closely others follow the light intensity advisory from Planta. I’ve personally found that my indoor sites are never too bright for any of my plants, regardless of proximity to the window or what direction the window faces. I’ve definitely accidentally sunburned plants by putting them outdoors, but I’ve never sunburned a plant indoors. So then, since even the brightest location is more like low light, that leads me to jockeying around my plant for prime window spots. My favorites get priority, but I have too many favorites 😂 Since I’m in the northern hemisphere, West facing windows are king. South facing are the next best, East is last choice, and North is don’t even bother lol So I’ve been thinking about hemispheres and light intensity. I’ve come to the conclusion that living in New England means I just don’t have the sun angle intensity that would burn an indoor plant. Not that I want to burn my plants lol, but it leave me with lots of warnings from Planta that my plants are in too bright of a location. Not the end of the world, but mildly annoying. It also leads me to wonder how many people are lead astray by that factor. Or how many people I may have given poor advice to regarding plant placement if they live much closer to the equator than I do Just my “expert level” musings lately 😂

Hi guys I have a question. If a plant is considered part shade or low light, is putting it further/ lower from the grow light going to give it what it needs or is a light that is to far only going to make it leggy? I hope that makes sense.🤍🪴TIA.

This is like the third post I’ve made about my monstera but I am now worried as it’s new leaf (which hasn’t unfurled yet) seems to be drooping. Is this normal? Is it going to lose this new leaf? Thanks in advance (sorry for bad angle in pic)

So I am a bit worried about my Moni. Two of her smaller leaves are turning yellow and while she is unfurling a new leaf it is going quite slow. I was away for a week and a friend of mine who was looking after my plants over watered her. What is it looking like folks?

Fun Fact regarding tomatoes!: If your tomato plant is blooming but not getting pollinated then you can use a tuning fork. Since bees use buzz pollination to pollinate tomatoes, you can get a tuning fork and place it on the plant while it rings. Then you successfully pollinated your plant! Hello, I have been gifted hydrangeas and they had beautiful blooms but now after repotting them in a bigger pot and adding miracle grow moisture control soil they got more vibrant and healthy. But this past week ive been battling whatever is happening with them and im not sure whats going on. Does anyone know? The leaves seems to be healthy and firm but the flowers are drying up I checked soil on top its damp and soil on bottom and its a bit more than damp. This pot has a drainage hole and the rest of the plant looks fine just the flowers are wilting.
