Hi, all! I posted yesterday because I’m a first time owner of a monstera! I got great advice for potting soil and for buying a moss pole so I just potted it in a 6” terracotta pot. First time using a pole, so does it look ok? Photo from yesterday shows how horizontal one of the leaves was lying, so just want to make sure I’m using this correctly! THANK YOU!

Just received my baby Monstera Thai 😊 so excited to see you grow 🌿. Any advice is well appreciated😊 It’s still in a little 6cm pot and I realise the pot I got (22cm) might be too big. Should I repot it somewhere smaller? I thought I might give it a few days before I repot as the soil is still moist.

hi, i have a mini monstera that i brought home almost three months ago. she’s prospering (abt four new leaves!) need a little help though: 1. how often do you water? i find that she’s completely dry in abt 5 days. 2. does this cause her to be root bound? if so, should i repot already? (see pics) 3. one leaf is losing color
clip? or is it likely due to the root leaving the nursery pot? grateful for any advice. thanks!

My monstera (Patricia) is getting so big! I think I might have to start propagating some of her leaves so she has more room to spread out since I’ve noticed some of her leaves are getting crushed/pushed behind other larger ones. It’ll be my first time propagating and I’m really nervous so if you have any tips!

First time owner of a monstera here! Somebody gave me this cutting which is currently in water. Will a 6” pot be ok? I’m going to buy a moss pole, which was recommended. What’s the best soil to use? Thanks!!

When a bottom leaf starts to look pale, should one just leave it or cut it off? The littlest bottom leaf doesn’t look as healthy as the older ones and I don’t know it’s natural aging and ok to leave or if I should clip. Thanks!

Hi! My Gustava (that’s our Monstera’s name (: ) has been growing towards the sun and leaning towards the window light. Is there anything I could do (apart from rotating it) to help it grow a little more straight up? I did think about tying it to a pole but not sure it would work given the depth of the pot
any suggestions are welcomed! Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone, first time monstera (and plant) owner here. My plant was doing ok about a week after reporting, but I’ve been noticing lots of centipedes (maybe millipedes?) in the soil
it was driving me insane, I thought maybe I was too afraid to clean the roots thoroughly the first time and did a poor job with repotting. I was removing about 3 worms /day for the past week. I bought this plant about a month ago, and it had given me my first leave last week, another one on the way (photos included), overall it looked happy and I was happy, but I was afraid of the well-being of the plant as winter is coming and didn’t want to wait to repot until spring if necessary. Long story short, I accidentally stepped on one of the leaves stems (the upcoming leave mother), and now I’m super afraid I’ve permanently damaged my plants foliage. Any input? Can it recover? Can I do anything to help this leaf and the upcoming one? Also, I watered thoroughly the first time I repotted but it was very stressed for about a week or two, so I’m afraid to water this new soil now, any suggestions about that as well? Summary: 1) stepped on my monstera stem while repotting, a baby leaf is coming and I’m afraid of it’s well-being. 2) how much should I water at this point? Most recent leave and plant overall look droopy :(

I went down a rabbit hole today (too long to explain 😂) and found out Monstera is apparently pronounced two different ways. 😳 The way I say it and have only heard it said by friends is: mon-STER-a (like mon-stare-uh) The other way is: MON-ster-a (like monster ahhhhhh! 😂) How do y’all say it?

I started noticing some of these black spots on the back and stems of my monstera’s leaves. Anyone have an idea what this is? I thought it could possibly be scales, but not entirely sure.

Hello fellow Maniacs I know air roots are part of the monstera, but I don’t know if I’m meant to do anything (about/with/for them) Info? Suggestions?

Anyone know what can cause this by chance? It’s a monstera I just bought from Home Depot (it was on major clearance) but I’ve never seen this before.

Help! My monstera is thriving but the new growth is support by a very thin juvenile stem. I trained a few aerial roots to grow into the soil for stability but I’m worried that he won’t be stable longer term and will snap under the weight. Can I repot and cover that part so the thicker stem sits on top of the soil? Should I cut that stem off and prologate the mature parts? Background: Had this guy since February and he’s doing great. He was a tiny baby from a friends plant (had roots and two little leaves). Since being with me he’s developed fenestration and the growth has a much thicker stem than the baby leaves.

Hi all! thank you in advance for your help! I won this beautiful Thai through a raffle and my local plant shop. I love it. The owner wasn’t there I picked him up but the workers told me to wait to repot it for a while. I am getting a feeling that time has come but I am unsure. In the attached photo the top of a root is beginning to show out of the soil. My gut says it’s time to repot, but I’m looking for advice. I can see some of the roots when I lift it up and look through the drainage holes, but they aren’t coming out of the bottom. Any sage advice would be much appreciated! â˜ș
