Sorry for the jump scare! This is my friend’s very bald-headed monstera adansonii that I’m trying to revive and rehabilitate. It’s been living high on a shelf, and while next to a sliding by door, was too high to get enough light.
I just brought it home today (it’s on my porch away from my plants + indirect sunlight & humidity for it) and I will be working on it in a couple days.
Other possible issues:
- Root bound
- Nutrient poor
- There were bobby pins holding old bald vine coiled into the pot. These were rusted and choking the plant.
- I also think maybe one of the cats peed in the pot at some point based on the smell even though it was up high. This I’m not sure on as I’m not a cat person. What I can say though is I’ve washed my hands and showered and my fingers still smell weird. 🤢
I’ve watched a lot of videos, but would love to hear how y’all would go about trying to save this plant!

My monsteras been struggling a bit and I need some advice! It’s been very good at pumping out new leaves and it looks pretty full from the top, but the bottom leaves are yellowing. Is there not enough light because the window is too high? Or am I overwatering? Please help 🙏

My Monstera Thai Constellation has some browning spots. I always let it completely dry out, its in a monstera chunky mix, and in a clear nursery pot with drainage holes so I can watch the roots. Why is this happening?

Hi, I just noticed this yellow spot that is starting to die. I don’t know what’s happening. Can someone help?
Normally, he stays in my basement with me in the bedroom. A few days ago, I brought him upstairs for water and fertilization. This was not here before, but now it is he got brought up to an area that is natural light compared to a plant light so I don’t know if that is the issue.

I am still very new to owning my monstera and I have a few questions. Hopefully my photo is helpful!
1- Do I need to buy a stick or something to help hold it up? If so are there any on Amazon that you’d recommend?
2- Is the browning on the leaves normal, or is something wrong?
3- When do you typically need to repot them? And how much larger should the new pot be? Do they like having tighter roots rather than more space?

Finally a new leaf!! Ive had this Thai con for about a month now & was worried it wasnt doing well with the change of environment. I ordered a grow light, left it on for 6 hours & woke up the next day to some new growth. This has been 5 days since & very excited to see this unfurl 😊😊

Hi 👋🏼 I’m Taylor & a first time monstera owner.
I would appreciate any pro tips or advice to keep my baby happy & healthy.
Right now she receives filtered sunlight through my skylight windows in my sunroom. But she mostly loves the window behind her that has a covered patio. I also have a grow light that I use a good chunk of the day that is full spectrum. Just not exactly sure what is best & how much light to give.
