Freaking F I N A L L Y 🙂 What a beautiful new leaf! If you’ve seen any of my previous posts.. you know I’ve been impatiently watching her unfurl. Can you imagine my excitement waking up this morning?! Hi 👋🏼 I’m Taylor & a first time monstera owner. I would appreciate any pro tips or advice to keep my baby happy & healthy. Right now she receives filtered sunlight through my skylight windows in my sunroom. But she mostly loves the window behind her that has a covered patio. I also have a grow light that I use a good chunk of the day that is full spectrum. Just not exactly sure what is best & how much light to give. Thank you in advance 😌

my thai con likes to have her unfurling leaves misted to boost the humidity. it also prevents tearing during the whole process, and i like to think it helps them unfurl faster. i can't exactly tell what you've got going on for soil but it looks pretty chunky, which is good for monsteras. if you can, get a humidifier. monsteras love love love humidity. plants will always prefer real sun to grow lights, so you've got it all covered there! she looks beautiful, by the way

Thank you soooo much! Definitely a chunky soil mix in the pot. I know they are prone to root rot so I let her dry almost completely before watering again.

Your plant looks healthy. Mine is outside on my screened lanai. First leaf growing in about a month. It grows much slower than the monstera deliciosa. My deliciosa grows a new leaf every day, it seems! 😆

Thank you! ☺️ Both of yours are absolutely beautiful! Mine is just a baby right now, so I was surprised by the fenestrations on the new leaf! & most definitely working on my patience with this beauty lol

Way to go Tay! Looks like you’ve got a good setup. As for worrying about too much light, mine loves as much light as I can give it short of prolonged direct sunlight. She’ll let you know if she’s getting too much, usually yellowing or browning in the middle or edges of the leaf with a hard line between good and bad.

Thank you for following along! I believe you gave me some advice on my last post also. If the leafs start turning will they most likely die off?

Lol yes I did a couple weeks ago. *This is all hypothetical since you don’t have sunburn or yellowing at all.* If the yellowing is due to light and not something else just the burned spots might die not the whole leaf.
