I found this root bound, over fed, pathetic looking monstera discarded in the bushes. I canât believe someone tossed it!
My monstera grows new leaves very often, and the other leaves donât seem to be getting any bigger. The stems also seem to be getting longer and there are lots of aerial roots. Any suggestions on how to fix this ? I have a moss pole but I have no idea where to place it since there are so many leaves and theyâre all very long. Any help is greatly appreciated <3
Question from a new-ish plant mom, my monstera seems to be growing roots above the soil? At least I think itâs a root? Can somebody tell me what is going on and how to fix this (if needed?)
So Iâve had this Monstera Swiss for maybe a month or two..and when I look it up, in the pictures itâs tall and standing up on its own. How do I get my Monstera to stand up instead of hanging down?
Hi everyone! Iâm a new plant mom and I have a beautiful monstera which has been growing a lot! Sheâs given me 3 new leaves in a month and Iâm thrilled! However, I am not sure if I should repot her, or how to support her since sheâs growing a lot and itâs growing bushy. Since I donât have a lot of room inside the house, Iâd love for her to grow upwards. Iâd love some advice please đ
Hey! Iâm new, how did you place your moss sticks in? I want to understand my options and make sure Iâm doing the right things! đ„°
Hello! I have a monstera adansonii that is doing really well, itâs producing a lot of new growth very quickly. Iâve had it for about 4 months, and Iâve never repotted it. Every time I watered it, it seemed to drain normally, but recently has drained a lot slower, and after checking the bottom of the pot it looks like there is only 1 very small drainage hole. Iâm wondering if I should repot it now, or wait until next spring? Iâm also moving in around 2 weeks so I donât want to add further stress to the plant. Any suggestions?
A few months ago, I went to a plant swap. I snatched up a Monstera dubia off the Free table. Itâs grown⊠a bit⊠since I brought it home. Itâs still super small, not sure I can even start it on a moss pole just yet. Anyone have any suggestions on how to size it up so I can get it going? Or do I just have to be patient?
Sweet babe
Meet Muensterânamed after my favorite cheese as a kid. Lots of debate about moss poles and the like. Any suggestions? I am planning ahead and trying to figure out the best way to support now and in anticipation of exponential growth and monstera fabulosity in the future. Fingers, toes, and eyes crossed!
Rust?
Welcome to the family!!! What should I call her? đ„°
biggest leaf my baby has pushed out yet đ„č
Do you think sheâs getting enough light there? she was closer to in front of the window but my roommate moved her slightly because the cord for the TV wouldnât reach !
Wish me luck đ€đŸmaking a pebble tray today to boost the humidity.
Just wanted to show off how proud I am of her! đđ„łđ
Franceen update Upon arriving she wasnât centered in her pot, so while I was adjusting her, this piece was very separate from the rest of the root system. I decided to make her another separate plant! So precious and adorable, might need a name for her too ahahah.
Iâm embarrassed to even share this, but I need help! I left my monstera in the car and it got sunburned on a few leaves, but this is the worse one. Iâm new to the plant life and have no idea what to do! Any help is highly appreciated!!
I repotted my monstera into a bigger pot at the end of last summer, then due to my flat getting really cold during winter I think, a lot of my plants got fungus gnats so I repotted it again the other week with a much more drainable soil mix with perlite and orchid mix as well as my normal soil. But now I have been rethinking if I shouldâve repotted it into a smaller pot as several of the roots had died, but when dealing with this plant last year this pot had been the best size for it. I donât want to repot it again into a smaller pot if itâs not necessary but Iâm not sure if it would be healthier to do it - just very late to repot now! Let me know if you have any advice!
