I need help deciding to chop now or to wait until she pops her next leaf. I just brought her back inside for the winter and she is under a grow light currently. I just added more slow release fertilizer granuals as well. This poor girl has been on a journey. I got her as a three leaf cutting from my sister almost four years ago now. She was growing beautifully at our old house and had the perfect spot. Then I became pregnant with my second and we moved. Her care declined for a while and I couldn't find her a good spot with enough light in our new home. Her leaves started getting smaller and loosing fenestrations until I realized I could grow her outside on my covered porch and she has been out there since spring. It took sometime but she is back in full health looking magnificent. I want to chop her and just start over with the beautiful big new leaves. 1) Is it okay to reroot her over winter under a grow light? We have mild winters where I live. 2) Should I wait until she pops her new leaf before chopping? It looks like it could pop anytime, but on the other hand it might not since I just moved her and changed her conditions. 3) What is the max leaves you think is okay to reroot together? Is four on the same stem too many?
I have a young Thai constellation monstera thatâs currently about 10â tall. Itâs grown 2â since I got it a month ago, but I want to give it a moss pole to help it out more. Right now, itâs in a 3â pot. Would I want to move it to something like a 7â pot to give it room to grow with the pole, or would that much soil/moisture be too much for the small amount of roots currently there? Iâm looking at getting a moss pole (the kind you fill with sphagnum moss) thatâs 3.75â across the front and 23â tall. This is my first time experimenting with a moss pole, so Iâm open to any and all suggestions!
Hello! So my albo monstera has been with one leaf for the longest. Can anyone tell if thereâs a node or if itâs considered a zombie leaf? Thank you in advance!
my monstera thai con is shooting its first new leaf since i have purchased her!!! i love my melon so much iâm so excited to see how this leaf turns out đ
Should I separate my monstera? or should I just leave it alone...
New leaf on my Thai con :]
I just got my first ever leaf with inner fenestration!
Our largest and smallest monsteras. Weâve had this Thai constellation for about a year and a half. Itâs been split in half and shared with family and itâs still huge! Sheâs been brought inside for the winter. And the tiny variegated swiss cheese weâve had for a couple of months and have already seen so much growth! đȘŽ
How often do you have to repot your Monstera? I've had mine maybe 1.5 years if that and this is going to be the fourth time. I go up two sizes each time and wait until the roots are bulging the nursery pot as well as coming our of the bottom. I don't want to go too big that it stays too wet.
Hi, Iâm new to caring for a Monstera. I bought mine a little while ago, and I realize now that I didnât do enough research to choose one with a more organized stem structure. The plant doesnât look very happy, and the stems are growing in all different directions. Iâd like to separate and arrange the stems so it looks healthier, but Iâm not sure how to do that. I also watched some YouTube videos, but they made it seem like a really complicated process. Could you please give me some advice? Thank you.
Hi! My monstera is a propagation from a friends. I notice the bottom where new leaves would come is brown. A new leaf has grown in and it has brown lines/ is damaged. Any idea what I can do? The rest of the plant is healthy!
My monstera is due for a repot. Right now itâs in a 7.5â pot. What size should I size up to? Also, Iâm thinking of adding a moss pole, but my monstera is kind of going in two different directions. If I put one pole in the middle, Iâm scared I will break the stems if I tie it back towards the middle. Any advice?? Pics of the front and back to show it growing in two directions :) đȘŽ
I just tried to replant my monstera and the roots were so packed in that it unfortunately broke/snapped off. Should I try propagating in water to get more roots or just put in a planter and hope for the best? I really hope I didnât just kill itđą
Hey everyone so Iâm really concerned for my monstera itâs starting to get cold and I have no inside space for her . Itâs supposed to drop down to the 30âs this week in temperature would that be a problem or should I be good? She been doing good in the 50âs & high 40âs but I donât know if she survive the 30s . Any recommendations?
Hello! First time Monstera owner here. Iâve had this lovely guy for a little over half a year now and it has been growing tremendously. Has had maybe one or two yellow leaves ever and that was months ago since I moved and it now has a prime sunny spot to live. It has a lot of aerial roots that are already growing inward towards the soil for stability, and is growing new leaves regularly still. I recently added a few loose stakes to encourage upward growth as it was starting to get very bushy and wide. Iâm concerned with how thick it is getting and wondering if it is time for a moss pole or something else more secure, or if I need to possibly trim anything (which I would like to avoid). Any suggestions are appreciated!
I have had this monstera for about 6 months and i just noticed this thing popping out. Does anyone know what it could be? Itâs not a cataphyll and I donât think itâs a new leaf since itâs all brown no green. Itâs also stuck on I cannot pull it off. Help pleaseeee đ
Hello just a quick question she's my first monstera l've had it for a couple months now she pretty healthy but I would like to know if she's ready for a repot to me she looks root bound and she does dry out pretty fast. Is she ready for repotting? Thanks In advance
