Hi friends! I’m wondering your advice on cutting this leaf. The plant sprouted a new leaf recently, and is overall doing well. But this one particular leaf keeps having pests. I’ve rinsed the leaf, sprayed it with insecticidal soap, and it’s in quarantine. But part of me just wants to chop off this leaf because for some reason it only seems to be this leaf that gets pests. (By the way can anyone identify what pests those are? Thrips?) If I were to cut the leaf, where exactly would I cut it? Without disturbing the other newer leaf. TIA!💚

I’ve had to repot twice now (since March) as her roots keep outgrowing the pots. As in literally growing out of the bottoms of them. She’s currently in an 8 inch pot. Should she be in something bigger though to keep up with the root growth? Thanks in advance 🫶🏼
When should I add support?
Hi all! I bought this baby home with me today and I’ve noticed this one leaf is a bit sad. Should I just chop him off or leave it alone? Thanks! ☺️
This is my first ever monstera, i repotted her a few weeks ago after giving her time to acclimate, now when i water her the water just sits at the top of the soil, veryyy slow draining. tried mixing up the soil, poking to create some air, no luck. i don’t want her roots to rot, should i repot her again with chunkier soil? maybe put her in water for a few weeks?
Hi! I’m new to Planta and this group. I just rescued my first monstera and I’m worried about here a little. I’m thinking she may be in shock. I repotted her with new soil. I gave her plant food and watered her. Does anyone have any advice in how to move forward with her. I named her Evangeline.
Due to a gnat infestation that I just could not get rid of I decided to repot this baby. It was also in a pot that was way too big so we're going down in size. Wish me luck! I might as well make it into two plants while I'm at it. Should I propagate in water or soil? Thoughts?
I’m so obsessed with my Swiss cheese I had to propagate another!
Should I put them in soil now ?
My landscaper planted these Monster plants last fall in a shady bed near our pool (Miami). Bed faces north so they get a bit of sun throughout the day, still mostly shade and no direct sunlight. In the past month, they’ve started to look a little brown and droopy. We’ve had a super dry winter and spring (almost no rain at all for 2 months) so I tried to water them a couple times during the week. We are in our rainy season now so they will get rain every few days for the next several months. I haven’t fertilized them since they were planted. Did I over water? Not enough? Should they be fertilized regularly? If so, which fertilizer would be best? (Moved from the Midwest so still figuring out how to garden in what is essentially a year round growing cycle.) Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Hey y’all! I need some advice. My sweet girl is growing so much!! However I can’t find what would be considered the “big back” so I just placed the climbing stick where I thought it fit. What do yall think? Secondly, I have some that hang really low, should I cut those or is it safe to add another climbing stick in the middle and attach the low leaves to it? Sorry I know I typed soooo much!
Say hello to my newest baby #38 :) I’ve been avoiding these because I know they are toxic, but I’ve placed this one. I have on a planter where no one can get to it. Is this definitely a Swiss cheese Monstera? The majority of my house plants are Kalithea with a few succulents, but never a Monstera. Any and all tips are welcome. Also, how will this plant do in bright light, but still far away from my window?
New to plant ownership, what do you guys think of my new Monstera? Can’t wait to watch it grow.
How much longer do you guys wait to pot these cuttings?
I’m really happy with how this guy is growing! Any ideas on how I can improve my setup? He’s getting pretty huge and I’m not sure where to go
My monstera Peru has been exactly the same size for 2 months. I repotted her into a bigger pot with a soil made from a mix of potting soil, cocoa coir, worm castings, coconut husk chips, orchid bark, and perlite. I feel like I’m babying this plant but nothing is happening. What can I do to get her growing?
my monstera wont stay up and ive added new soil, lots of sunlight, and water it just cant stay up. what should i do?
Hello friends! My guy is thriving so well and I just wanted to come and ask if there’s anything I need to do to help him continue thriving? This is my first plant that’s really taken off like this and I don’t know if I need to trim or anything 😂💛 thanks in advance, guys! 🥰
I bought this plant yesterday. The nursery told me to use the bumper crop soil to replant it and add a layer of rock to the bottom of the pot (so I know they don't know best practices clearly) I want to give this thing the BEST chance. Its current in a west facing window in my bedroom. I know it needs to be repotted, but I'm not sure what to use. I've included photos of the soils I have, and the readings I got with my new little Meter. Help me give this beauty a chance!
I got this monstera from Trader Joe’s about a year ago. It has done super well, I have transplanted her a few times. She has loved living in Florida but now I fear she’s getting out of control! Should I transplant her or is there something else I can do?
