Lowe’s let me have this girl for $15! 😭 I snagged her so fast, she’s been #1 on my plant wishlist for a while now! I already have a monstera deliciosa, but I know these one’s can be more prone to root rot (+ sun scorching), I smelled her roots and I’m not getting any funky scent! She’s got a little browning on one leaf, am I right to think this may be a lighting and humidity issue?
that or sunburn. if lowes had it outside, it had absolutely no filter from the sun, which isn't great for these guys. but humidity is definitely also part of it

좋아요 1개 yeah, they tend to put them anywhere in the store. i'm leaning towards sunburn. if it was humidity, you'd see crispy edges along most of the leaves, not just that one. that's also the most highly variegated leaf, and variegated spots are easily sunburnt

Looking at the other leaves, I don’t believe it’s sunburnt! Variegated plants tend to brown where no chlorophyll is present. Although the variegation makes it more sensitive than a regular Monstera Deliciosa to bright direct light (ex: outside, full sun), monsteras need bright indirect light to thrive without becoming leggy.
