hello all (: i’m about to put this monstera cutting in soil but i am unsure about what to do with the aerial root. i’ve heard not to put it in soil but i don’t like the look of it 😭 will cutting it off be bad for it at this stage?

Why would you not put it in the dirt? Don’t roots belong in dirt? I heard they give the plant stability?? Genuinely curious now…

I direct/plant the aerial roots of both my green monstera and my Thai constellation into the soil. I’ve had really good luck with it. I’ve found that it helps support them and I haven’t had to use a pole for either (yet).

There's nothing wrong with putting the aerial roots in soil. Another alternative would be tucking them into a moss pole

All that time u had the cutting in water that aerial root would of give u a lot of new roots to grow the plant and much faster that in soil. The purpose of aerial roots is to anchor the plant and feed herself when is far from the plant itself
