I’m not ready to remove Miss Albo from the coziness of the “sauna” but what about this wild root touching the shelf.. I can put her on a pedestal to give another inch or two but then what? Will it just grow however it wants?

I think it’s okay for aerial roots to trail as long as they want. Monstera in the wild can have aerials like 10ft long or more! The only thing to watch out for is to make sure it doesn’t attach to things you don’t want it to such as walls, carpet, or other plants

Just recently I saw a video of this guy taking care of his monstera discussing a bit on why his pot is so small yet the monstera it’s a impressive very mature size and he had worked the aerials back into the soil and they became natural support stakes for the monstera holding it up, all of this to say you should be able to work the wild root into the pot and any others that come out to make a stronger root/support system

I was wondering about that because it seems pliable and I’m thinking I might need a slightly larger pot when adding a trellis or pole… hmmmm

Well that’s part of what was so cool about him putting the aerial roots back into the soil it became a natural support system, his had no pole or trellis and it was more then half of him lol

I would redirect back into the soil. You could take the plant out the pot, wrap the aerial root around the root ball, and place back into the pot. Ariel’s root will develop soil roots and give extra support to the plant.
