This is my unintentional cutting when I separated my large Monstera Deliciosa last about 10 days ago. While the others planted in soil are doing ok 🤞, this one seems to be struggling. The one leaf that’s trying to open has been trying for days. The stem had some brown mushy stuff happening so I just cut it off and sprayed with peroxide. I don’t want to leave it out of water too long for it to callous. Any suggestions?
Some people just cut the new leaf right off so the plants energy goes into rooting. I would leave one leaf. I don't see a node really that might be why it's struggling. You could put it in moss to help it out.

Unfortunately without a node the plant won’t root unless it has produced new leaves while being in water then sometimes they can root.

this is called a "zombie leaf". this leaf will not grow new leaves and will die within a year
0개 좋아요 i don't know why people are saying you don't have a node lol there's literally multiple on this cutting. i agree you should cut that bottom leaf off but you have two nodes here and a third one forming (new leaf).
2개 좋아요 That’s what I thought too about nodes and so was very hopeful… I ended up cutting off the new leaf as suggested above already 😕. Are you saying I should also cut off the bottom leaf and just leave the one middle which is all I’ll have left? Thanks! I’m really hoping this survives 🤞
좋아요 1개 yeah i would cut the bottom one. i have never cut new leaves off of my cuttings and i have no issues, your cutting would've been fine 😓 just one leaf is enough though.
