i recently got a thai con which came in a self watering pot, but i'm not using hydro/ semi-hydro medium. i've taken out the self-watering thread and instead put pebbles & water in the resovoir below the actual plastic pot the roots sit in for extra humidity. is this setup okay? will this increase chance of root rot or will my monstera be fine? (that new leaf has unfurled and is fully fenestrated!)

I would be careful Thai cons are very prone to root rot but it should work

If the roots aren’t sitting directly in the water I think it should be ok... Bottom-up humidity, sounds like a fun little experiment!
