I have 3 monstera deliciosa in a 16 in pot. Should I separate them into smaller pots? And if I do what supports should I use??

    You can separate if you want. I recommend moss poles.

    I prefer to leave mine big and bushy but if you want you can separate I agree he’s a moss pole

    Don’t forget! You attach the plant from the back and don’t attach leaves or leaf stems.

    Moss poles are a long-term commitment; a monstera will have similar success with just a stake, and it will be less maintenance. I use paint stirrers since they’re wider and more stable.

    I just separated 4 from a smaller pot than that, it took me around 40 minutes of working to not destroy the roots. My biggest recommendation is to fill the pot with water and let it soak for 20-40 minutes first. Mine are all doing much better and growing healthier now that they’re separated and the only support I have currently is just some bamboo sticks that keep the stem from falling over while it roots into the new soil. I’d recommend getting them apart if you want them to all grow without competing for resources, but that also takes up 3x more floor space.

    I used an eco friendly bamboo moss pole and it broke, was not easy to maintain. I’ve seen monsteras growing on palm trees so when my trio’s new growth hardens I’m transplanting and using heat treated pallet wood to reduce the likelihood of rot and minimize maintenance.

    I just got 2 days ago a monstera and paid $5. Marked down from garden centre closing. It’s in a 6” pot and I counted 7 plants. Bushy and beautiful. Just wondering if I should repot?

      I think so. The 7 plants are going to start fighting for nutrients at some point.
