Hi all! I just got my first monstera at Home Depot yesterday! A highly variegated Thai Con. I’m so excited because I’ve been wanting a monstera for a bit but wanted the “perfect” one, I’d been waiting for the right one and I finally found it! I’ve done a decent amount of research and I work at a plant store but I love hearing about everyone’s individual experiences and care tips and tricks! Please let me know any advice or knowledge you have to offer :)
Every monstera I’ve ever bought has come with thrips, esp from Home Depot. I’ve also recently found two of my Home Depot plants had death plugs (netting around the roots that cause it to die). So after you get it home for a few days and quarantine it while you make sure it is going to die of shock, I recommend taking it entirely out of the soil, dipping the entire thing in insecticidal soap and check the roots for the plug.

I got one too and this is it now. I’m not a fan of the self watering pot mines came in so I repotted it but I’ve had her for 3 months now
Mine like LOVES terracotta pots!💚
