Hi! So this is my monstera. She’s gone through some rough patches. Just wondering if anyone had any ideas or ways I can help her. I know the leaf on the left is dying but should I cut it? I’m new to monsteras. The leaf on the right is pretty new. Only like a month old. Appreciate any and all tips! Thanks (The picture on the left is it on July 12th so we’re doing good so far)
these are signs of overwatering. check the roots. leaves should not be unfurling already damaged

좋아요 1개 that looks like rot to me. pull on the roots to see what falls off. chop off anything stringy or mushy. then into a much smaller pot.

0개 좋아요Honestly the roots look ok to me, but hard to tell without feeling them. But re: leaves, I trim the brown bits to keep away bugs (but don't cut into the green b/c it'll always leave behind a dead scab and you're trying to preserve as much chlorophyll as possible). The green will steadily drain out of the leaf & stem, but leave as long as possible b/c it's still producing energy for the plant. Once it turns yellow you can cut it off. I would say to switch the substrate to an aroid-specific mix. I also got "Stress Coat" fish tank additive for my water b/c the minerals in my tap water burn my leaves. So now I filter it and add 2-3 drops (literally just drops) of stress coat to 1gal of water, and that's worked absolute wonders for mine.
