Heya! I am a newbie to monsteras and I am worried I may have made a mistake already - help! I just purchased a monstera deliciosa from someone yesterday, I also put it in a larger pot yesterday.. I used indoor all-purpose potting soil.. I was doing some reading tonight and discovered they need more chunky soil.. So my question is should I pull it out again to change the soil to a chunkier soil? Will it be okay for a couple weeks? I don’t want to cause any issues 😭😭
I might be concerned with over stressing the poor guy with so much action back to back…maybe let him sit in what you did for a few weeks and see his reaction, then make the switch…I found this mix on Amazon I plan to get and use for my new Monstera Thai Con!
Normally I’d agree with leaving plants alone before making another change, but it also looks like the pot is a little too big for the plant (at least, that’s how it appears in the pic). Too big of a pot + straight potting soil can equal a recipe for disaster, so you’ll want to correct that sooner than later. 😬 Fortunately, monsteras are pretty hardy and don’t stress easily, so you should be fine to repot it again. Choose a pot that’s 1 - 2” bigger than the root ball (they actually prefer to be snug in the pot), and switch up the soil with the chunkier mix while repotting it. They’re resilient plants! You got this! ☺️

I agree with sooner rather than later and maybe a bit smaller of pot. Maybe try a clear nursery pot that you can place into the decorative one. I mix my own chunky soil. I’ll do approximately 1/2 soil then equal-ish parts of bark, leca balls, & perlite (wear a mask or clothe over your nose and mouth when working with this you do not want to breathe in the dust)
