I may have left my monstera in the shower for a bit too long and this morning I woke up checked on her and noticed what I think is fungus gnats. Any remedies? I put a layer of cinnamon on top 😭

    Mosquito dunks. It’s been in my water routine since I started collecting plants. Never had an issue with bugs

      Should I do it now or wait since the soil is pretty moist?

      I’d suggest waiting until the next watering. No need to over water.

    I put a little neem oil in with my water so it kills the eggs of the gnats. Then I use the yellow sticky traps on the surface for the adults

      They’re like still crawling around the soil but have wings I haven’t seen any flying around yet

      Hey Shan, do you use neem oil on your water? What is the ratio for that?

      Sorry - forgot to come back! Lol @kaunas - I use about a tablespoon to a gallon of water, I’ve heard adding a small amount of dish soap is helpful to emulsify the oil. - Neem spray is better for the leaves and those pests

    Might not hurt just to spritz the top of the soil with neem oil to kill those that you see crawling around.

    I’ve been there! A thin layer of coarse horticultural sand on top of the soil worked wonders to block the gnats. Just a heads-up: make sure it’s the chunky/graded kind that is actually tiny rocks (often sold for succulents or fire pits). Avoid regular fine sand, as it's too dense for the roots!

    Try this product! A drop for every gallon with every watering keeps my gnats at bay!
