Hi, I recently got my hands on a monstera albo that I got from Oregon, I live in Miami. Im a first time plant dad and need advice on how to take care of it and how and when to put it in another pot? Its going to be in my balcony with my other plants, not direct sunlight I really want it to grow ao I can propagate it in the future

    Your plant is a beaut! TBH, I’d recommend leaving it in the original pot. When the roots start starts to get compacted and stuffed in the pot, that is normally the best time to repot, but for now…let it acclimate. Yes, bright indirect sun is key for variegation, but direct makes them. If you are a risky type, clip any non variegated leaves to keep the variegation DNA strong. Also, for any outdoor plants, I keep them in a glass hurricane vase with leca and sphagnum moss. It’s easy to see when the plant is completely dry before rewatering. Good luck my friend!

    My best advice for new plant parents is to not be afraid of chopping. Removing the torn leaf you show in the pictures may hurt now, but the plant can instantly use all the nutrition sent to try keeping the damaged one alive to prep for a brand new leaf. Plus, if it was a fungal sickness causing the spot of concern, you'll save the rest of the plant by doing it early. All plants need pruning. Once you grow accustomed to the naturally selective process of pruning away bad leaves, you will actually get healtier leaves more consistently.

    Good afternoon from central Lakeland! My biggest tip for anything variegated is lots and lots of light. I would wait 2-3 months to repot
