Advice needed… Some background… As you can see monstera is out of control. I love him so much and have been doing my research on replanting him. However, my anxiety to start cutting him runs extremely high. I know it needs done. He is trailing the floor. My biggest fear is he will die. I have had him for a couple of years now and never knew he was a climber. This is why he looks this way. He is doing so good. Beautiful leaves, solid base, etc. Should I mess with him? Should I completely cut him up and start over? I also need advice on the whole moss pole, stake option. Which is better? Please help with advice. (The pool noodle is cushioning the stem as it was starting to dig itself into the rim of the pot).

i totally get the anxiety but these are hardy!! Think of it (for a moment) as a big, invasive weed. It will bounce back. I’d wait until spring so you don’t have to endure it being sad (ugly) all winter

Look into the air layering propagation method if you’re afraid to cut him right away. I’m currently air layering my brother’s super messy/gigantic monstera and it’s working really well so far! Watch this video for more info. Planta won’t let me link it, but here’s a screenshot lol. Good luck ❤️❤️

My monstera looked the same as I didn’t know it was a climber when I got her…I didn’t have the heart to chop her either so I cleaned up the crispy leaves and staked her. I bought three 6 ft wooden stakes and attached the stems to the stakes with green Velcro strips. Face the leaves to the front of the pot. It won’t be easy since the stems have grown overtime. Your pot looks on the small side so you may want to repot her. Once I did this to mine she took off and is now over 8 ft tall…I love her so much…if you decide to chop her she will be fine like everyone else said
