Hello ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿพ about 2 weeks or so ago I began propagating a leaf from my monstera. And since itโ€™s grown a new leaf and roots. Should i keep it in the water at this point or put it in soil? This is my first successful propagation ๐Ÿ™‚

The general rule is wait until the root has roots.

Agree with above posts of waiting to pot. Alternatively, you can keep it in water indefinitely! I have many monsteras living in water and sprouting new leaves ๐Ÿคฉ

Another good rule of thumb with propagating is to slowly add dirt to the water throughout a couple weeks rather than moving directly from water to soil. The roots that are in just water are water roots and likely wonโ€™t root into 100% soil. If you slowly add dirt to the water youโ€™ll start to get soil roots and theyโ€™ll take root and produce a plant. This is why a lot of propagation fails for new plant parents. Just be careful to make sure thereโ€™s no root rot and keep an eye on the plant as it goes through the propagation process.

Update: the roots are growing like wildflowers ๐Ÿฅฐ
