Proud of my monstera 🥲 I want to propagate it, but I’m intimidated for some reason! Need advice / plant pep talk 😂

She’s a beauty! It can be such an anxiety inducing thing at first but once you’ve done it, it honestly becomes almost muscle memory (especially with monsteras lol) the only thing really is to always ensure you’re cutting at the right spot (right in the middle of the internode) and always always make sure there is an aerial root attached!

Water is the easiest way to avoid root rot and pests and it works pretty darn well, just change the water every few days and add nutrients when roots start to grow

I always prop in water especially with monsteras! You can transfer to soil once they have developed healthy roots:))

I was intimidated too.. mainly because mine is so tall and healthy.. I was afraid taking from her would kill her or destroy her other leaves.. I’ve taken 4 starts from mine now and feel so much better about it now that I have other monstera 😊plants❤️

Definitely water.. I love to watch the roots form and grow first🥰

If you can, wait until the spring or early summer to chop and prop. It's the start of the growing season so it will shock it the least
