    The browning is normal. Those are old cataplylls. No biggie. Those might be new leaves!!! The stem usually plumps up before it releases a leaf. Here is the newest leaf on my giant momma monster. She just emerged this week. Hope it helps you visualize what yours might look like!

      Ah!! Ok. I do see one exciting thing going on :) that’s on one of her main stems. The store chopped it and looks like it’s growing back
