New Plant 4 Me!

Looking for subject matter expertise. I have a new Monstera that looks pretty healthy (I don’t know for sure). I plan on keeping him in the living room after repotting. This is the lighting that my buddy will receive primarily (see pictures). Does he need more light? With the stems being as long as they are, is there a way to keep them from dropping?

i think that amount of light looks perfect! the drooping leaves in the last two photos looks like its from underwatering, but they could also just be old leaves :)

This looks like a bunch of plants, you may want to consider repotting in a while :) each vine would really appreciate a moss pole ☺️

We definitely plan on repotting. Should we reuse the same soil? Is there such a thing as “plant shock” due to being reported in all new soil?

You can always expect a period of adjustment, which would be “plant shock” whenever you repot or move a plant to a different location. It takes time for the plant to get its bearings ☺️ when bringing a new plant home, I try to give it as much time as possible to adjust, and only repot immediately as needed. You will probably need to spend quite a bit of time untangling roots, and will also need to add soil, make sure it’s fast draining ☺️ Also, make sure your new pot is only a smidge bigger than the root ball. They like to be a little root bound.

Also, they love a bunch of indirect light, that helps with new leaves having fenestrations ☺️
