🚨beginner🚨 I’ve never owned a monstera before, but have just been gifted one, any and all advice is needed!! Light needs, watering, general tips, anything!

    they like bright indirect light, so maybe an east facing or west facing window, and they love humidity but mine hate being misted. only mist unfurling leaves, it helps prevent tearing. don't spin them around a whole lot, it can make their growth leggy. keep them facing the same direction so they can grow more naturally. in the wild, they scale up trees, so they don't enjoy too much adjusting. they like to dry out completely between waterings. if you want to, you can give him something to climb on and he'll get pretty massive, but it's not necessary. if you decide to chop & prop, let the cutting(s) callous before you put them in water or soil.

      Mine is in indoor potting mix. (Miracle grow) mine is currently outside.
