I think it is a personal preference. I kept mine together and used 2 poles.
좋아요 1개Strongly recommend those plastic pole structures and committing to it. Monsteras are climbing plants naturally, and will thrive. Example, my on the verge of death deliciosa saved from Target. It’s now happy happy, and naturally working its way up the pole. Would recommend assembling your pole with damp moss, then allow it to fully dry before transplanting. This will allow you to more easily tuck the aerial roots in to the pole and moss.
3개 좋아요I tried one of the plastic poles with sphagnum moss, but now prefer the more solid wound grass type. The moss pole dries quickly, even if it has a drip cup on top. It also becomes a host for gnats. That made me switch to the wound grass type, which I soak before planting and mist as I water it. I’ve managed to grow moss on the grass- peeled it off a fallen tree and keep it misted. Just my experience for the past year.
