New to monsteras. What do I do to help this?
Maybe put a support stick
0개 좋아요Keep it near a bright window with tons of morning light. The leaves can get huge and fenestrated in my experience when given the right conditions. You can wait for it to dry out 1/2-2/3 of the way before watering again. They also grow best with a support pole such as a metal trellis or a wood plank. These plants are the best!! Excited to see it progress
2개 좋아요Hi! I’m pretty new to them too but I think I know more of what they do and don’t like. 1st. Check the potting mixture you’re using. Monsteras love to have a chunky soil that allows for a lot of airflow to the roots. Most standard potting soils are too dense and thus will slowly suffocate the roots. So get a mix that is well draining like an orchid potting mix. 2nd. Light, light, light. I’d recommend you put this as close to a window as you can. I’ll post mine below for an example. Thus will ensure the leaves stand up nice and tall and continue to grow large. Overall giving it more light will help your plant survive. 3rd. Allow your soil today out about 80% before watering. They let with watering is when you water, really soak the soil and make sure it drains out the bottom. Then be patient and wait till you can feel that most of the soil is dry again (usually a few days to a week or two depending) and repeat the process. EDIT: Also I agree on getting a support pole for the plant as well. If you have questions regarding that feel free to ask!
0개 좋아요Definitely a support pole. I use a cedar wood plank for mine and it works really well.
