I have a philodendron choco empress that I was planning to give away or sell. Itâs been relegated to the family room on the lower floor for several months now. She had her own grow light and stand and was still well taken care of. No other plants on that floor. I was fertilizing her this morning and have decided itâs too beautiful of a plant to get rid of. Originally my idea was she is too wide to fit in main living areas. Somehow I will make room for her. Probably the top shelf a of a plant stand so she wonât be in the way. Iâve had her since last June and had no idea this small plant would grow to be so large, and will be growing a lot more now that spring has arrived. And something I have noticed, she releases excess moisture, or food, or whatever it is. Just a few droplets. Iâve seen this a on a few plants. Itâs small sticky droplets on bottom of the leaves. Iâve only seen this on a few plants. And before anyone goes there, they are not from pests. I had a pinstripe calathea that did it to the max. Took a lot of research to solve that because everyone said it was pests. I had to rinse it off every couple weeks. To this day I read about people having the same problem with their pinstripe and everyone says itâs pests. It happens with proper watering and high humidity, not pests. Just my thoughts for the day. Itâs a beautiful warm spring day here. Everyone have a great day.
