Iâm so amazed every time I look at my spider plant đ„°. I took a few baby cuttings from my MIL and propagated in water hoping for the best. My very first spidy. The last picture is from today. I just had to share. Gives me so much joy to see plants thrive

I really wasnât sure about this as I already cut off a leaf that had brown tips and spreading through the leaf. And when I saw other leafs start having brown tips, I thought it was hopeless⊠I heard itâs not the easiest plant to grow. BUT, Iâm so excited to see a new leaf and itâs growing! Yay! Itâs sitting in an east facing window so only gets light in the morning. It seems to be doing ok here đ€

I grew all this! Annnnd now I have to treat all of it for bugs đ© Mealies, spider mites and fungus gnats. Thatâs the life of a plant lover. đđ€Ș A couple of months ago, quite a few got repotted and the soil I used must have had the mother load of fungus gnats eggs because they tried taking over my house! After a few weeks of treatments they are almost under control. Iâm feeling like I may never use new soil again without mixing in a systemic! Does that even work?

1st floor window facing. Right now direct sunlight does not stream into these windows until after 1PM and the direct sun stops coming in around 5:30PM. And each day less and less direct light. The second floor windows, directly above these windows, gets direct sunlight for at least 3 additional hours because the houses across the street do not block the sun like they do to the 1st floor. And that design, setup, was done on purpose by architects back in 1890, not just for uniformity. No house should be able to block the sun unequally from others. So when people add a 3rd Floor to their homes they are giving the middle finger to everyone else and saying âI can do what I want.â In image, which has been brightened, left to right plants; - Bamboo (in water) - Monstera (in water) - Waffle Plant âExoticaâ - Wax Begonia - Snake Plant - Succulent Bowl (using old ceiling fan light glass cover.) - Echeveria âDark Moonâ - Mini skeletal guard dog.
