A simple but meaningful milestone - my first plant ever turned 5 years old today🥹 I had this Hoya in some of the worst conditions for yeeears and I finally put her in a brighter spot and now she has loads of new growth!

0 Mi piaceHappy Birthday! 🎉 What type of hoya is it?
1 mi piaceIt’s a Hoya pulicalyx! She’s super hardy!
1 mi piaceThey are very hardy. I have one. It’s much darker. I probably put too much fertilizer in it the last time I watered. They grow a lot in a year. I just wish it would put energy into blooming.
1 mi piaceI fertilize mine quite often too. I read online that it really can just be a waiting game as far as blooms go🥹😆
1 mi piaceI was thinking I would wait 3 - 5 years to see a bloom. I even bought 3 years old hoyas over a year ago. None bloomed last year. So, I moved several to a northeast wall outside getting direct morning sun until 10:30am. I have 12 hoyas that have bloomed at least once since May on this wall! Three (Lacunosa no caps, Heuschkeliana, and a Krohniana Super Silver) have bloomed continuously since May/June! All three plus a Hoya Lacunosa Royal Flush have produced seed pods.
