it took every ounce of my self control not to impulsively purchase one of these alocasias when I went to the nursery the other day… they’re gorgeous. thinking about going back but I know they’re high maintenance 😭

Personally they aren’t hard for me at all I have 3 alocasias all in soil & no humidifiers & I live in a dry climate. I just give them lots of light, I have them right up against to an east facing window. I water when dry completely to avoid overwatering (or when I see the leaves curling)

this is so strange to hear because I always put my silver dragon at the window and she gets sunburnt!😅 must just be a hard plant for me

Well I have an east window, if you have a south window or a west window maybe put it a couple feet back to avoid sunburn
1 mi piaceDo the Polly! They’re not hard! And they look so cool! I don’t know about the silver dragon personally but my daughter loves hers.

I have a silver dragon and she’s been tricky for me… seems happy (puts out flowers) but always dropping leaves! y’all are convincing me to go back & get her a sister 👀

Nothing is difficult when you understand the care needs of the species. Its the not knowing that is hard. Watch some you tube videos on this plant and then go back and get it! “Fear” not! Just research and learn.

I can’t believe the launguage algorithm would not allow me to use the word “fear”. 🤦🏻♀️
